Course Overview

This focused GED® Mathematical Reasoning course builds the visual and algebraic skills needed to solve questions about points, lines, rays, angle relationships, parallel lines, and triangles. The course moves from essential vocabulary to multi-step GED®-style problems. Every session connects a diagram to a rule, expresses the rule in MathJax/LaTeX, demonstrates a worked example, identifies common errors, and ends with a self-check.

After practice, classify each missed question as one of the following:

  • Algebra error: the equation was correct but solving or substitution failed.
  • Reasonableness error: the answer did not match the required angle type or total.

  • Combine two or more relationships in diagrams involving intersections, parallel lines, and triangles.
  • Translate real-world situations involving roads, ramps, roofs, gardens, signs, and crossings into geometric models.

Verification and GED® Readiness

  • Check that complementary angles total (90^\circ), supplementary or triangle angles total (180^\circ), and angles around a point total (360^\circ).
  • Reject impossible answers, including negative angle measures and triangle angles greater than or equal to (180^\circ).
  • Identify common GED® distractors caused by using the wrong total, matching the wrong angles, or stopping after solving only for (x).
  • Use the routine
