- Match the scenario to the principle. Decide which idea (federalism, judicial review, due process) a situation shows before reading the choices.
- Source it. For a document, ask who wrote it, when, and why -- then read for bias.
- Follow the chain. Distinguish a cause from an effect, and an event from its long-term consequence.
- Read charts for the trend. Note the axes and units, then describe the pattern.
- Never leave a blank. Eliminate what you can, then choose.
